Enhanced Security Measures and Membership Card Policy

In light of a few recent incidents of unauthorised non-members entering the Club’s premise, we would like to emphasise the importance of adhering to the Byelaw below to effectively identify and authenticate active members before accessing the Club’s facilities. This process allows us to maintain a high level of security and safeguard the well-being of our community. Please do not get upset with our Security Personnel for asking you to show your membership card – they are simply doing the job that has been asked of them. The Singapore Police Force have also increased their presence and some of you will have noticed their daily patrols on the Club premises which started recently.

Bye-Law 8.1(a):
8.1 MEMBERSHIP CARDS
a. Membership cards with photographs are issued to Members for the purpose of identification. These must be shown by Members at the Main Gate every time they visit the Club. Members of the Committee, the General Manager, and the staff of the Club, including security guards and British Club bus driver, are authorised to request production of such cards or other documents at any time to verify Membership of the Club.

We encourage members to always carry their membership card when visiting the Club, as it serves as an official identification and access pass. Membership cards must also be presented before ordering food at any outlet. If you forget to bring your physical membership card, you may either present a digital photo of your membership card or inform the security personnel of your membership number so they can then check with reception. These measures will assist in confirming your membership status and ensure a smooth entry process.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and support in ensuring the application of this Bye-law. Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us at memberrelations@britishclub.org.sg.
